11:14 pm - Another message to my sister.
First off, I finished touching up our site. Check out our music at: http://www.grayzigzags.com/ We don't have a bass player; but who needs one anyway?

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I'd like to take some time out and talk about you. I know I've joked around with you alot; but truthfully you really kick serious ass. You're into alot of the same music I am, you're funny, you're actually a talented artist, whether you believe it or not, and you just know how to have a good time. You make me realize how stupid I can be sometimes, which is really useful, and I thank you for that, as well as all the fun times and good laughs I've had with you. :3

11:05 am - David Craig Simpson - Shiver

Well known already as the creator of the popular webcomic Ozy and Millie as well as the political comic I Drew This, David Craig Simpson has released a CD featuring twelve songs. The CD is completely downloadable here; but is also available for purchase here, for those of you who want to support a fine man.

First off, I'd like to say I am really impressed with this album. I was surprised to find that I liked every song on it. It has a good mix of progressive, jazz, folk, and easy listening. If you like mellow music, take some time and check it out.

Okay, it starts off with 'If I Can't Get to London', one of the jazzier songs, that features a short, though very nice sax solo. (Mmmm sax.) Based on a book apparently, it’s about being alone. A typical subject for a song, but the lyrics are decieving, as I was fooled by the meaning at first.

The next two tracks are 'Impression of You' and 'From the Rain'. They both remind me of Blackfield, which is a good thing. Very soft and mellow stuff there. From the Rain especially, the vocals remind me of Aviv and Steven.

'I See', the fourth track. Very apparent brit-pop sound. Early Beatles, Oasis, etc. It’s just a simple love song, with acoustic guitar, and a bit of sax. Nothing outstanding; but it sounds nice.

Mr. Simpson said it best himself when he described 'Mockingbird Song' as either having no meaning, or it being too subtle. I've listened to it at least 10 times now and the lyrics don't scream out anything obvious. Regardless, it's a nice little tune.

'California', just a sad song about missing a friend. It's very touching song, even for somebody like me who's never lost somebody close to him. It's one of my favorite songs on the album.

'We All Fall Down' is a song, from what I have interpreted, about the facts of life. People mess up from time to time, get weak, do things they regret. It's surprisingly upbeat compared to the rest of the album; but doesn't make it any less enjoyable.

'Turn Away' is a song filled with pain. Some indulgances we can't get away from, addictions to strong to break. That's what this song conveys. You want to get away; but you just can't, and it kills you on the inside.

'Warm' another simple song with a simple premise. Something that almost everybody wants. To feel safe. To feel like everything will be okay, turn out right. To feel protected by somebody they love. To feel warm.

'Tin Heart' is another pain-filled song, though not like Turn Away. This pain is not an angry one; but more of a helpless one. Like the subject wants to just give up, because everything seems so useless and futile.

The album wraps up with 'Hey Abandon' and 'Still Nina', two of the more reflective songs on Shiver. They are best listened to through headphones, so you can block out any outside noise. Both of them, though Still Nina moreso, are good for taking a break and just clearing your mind.

Conclusion, this album is wonderful. Mr. Simpson did a wonderful job on it, and I recommend if you can spare the price, buy the album, even though it's free. He has brought many wonderful things to the internet, and he should be supported.

Final Score: 84/100

10:01 am - Derrick...
On the Febraury of ninth, something wonderful happened.
Something that I could never have imagined.
I asked him and he said yes. And the rest?
Well it had to be destined.

They say we were so good together.
That it could last forever.
Then came the crash. Out, I lashed.
It didn't happend did it? No...never.

But it did. Your mind was fucked.
And it was me who was left out of luck.
You needed to split, I understand it.
Even though, deep down it really sucks.

So I'm trying to stay calm, be patient.
To my friends for support I went.
For you I will wait. Because of this fate.
For D, you were heaven-sent.

Our souls have been merged to one.
No one can stop us, ruin our fun.
We may be apart now; but somehow...
In your arms will be your Ibun.

Get your mind in order, please.
All I want to do now is appease.
When your heart gets in tact, I'll take you back.
My eyes will flow tears rivalling the seven seas.

I know we'll be happy together again.
We'll meet finally, every now and then.
Take it slow, that's how we should you know.
So we'll be still be together, in twenty ten.

I pushed you too much, clinged too close.
When you were gone, I was so morose
Still am to a degree; but now I see
That my obsession was gross.

I'll give you your space from now on.
As long as your bright face, I can look upon.
Knowing you love me, and long to see
Our eyes meet, and the gaze I'll prolong.

So here I sit, trying to rhyme.
Because I'm in love, that's no crime.
So I ask you D, you and me...
I want to try it. One more time...

04:21 am - GWARG! :B
I feel so helpless right now. I've got a friend in Cali who's always been depressed. But tonight it was much more apparent than ever. She was talking about killing herself, and I don't know if she is serious or not. I tried at least a dozen times to get her to come around, and I kept failing. It's a terrible feeling knowing that despite my best efforts, I can't protect the ones I care about. I was shaking and crying earlier, I want to thank Nimbus and JerryArr for being there for me. Nimbus, I love you, really. You're a wonderful friend and I care alot about you. (By the way, she's no the friend I'm talking about.) Jerry, you rock too. You're just a fun guy to talk to and hang out with. I owe both of you guys alot. I still feel like shit; but I'm not crying or shaking anymore, so I guess that's good. It just reminds me of those months with another friend and helping him out. At least with him, I made a difference, this time, I'm not sure I am...

04:37 am - Stuff >:@
Guess I'll start off with the obvious, music. Picked up three CDs last week, and got a few others leaked. First off, Victor Wooten's 'Victor Wooten Live in America'. Awesome album from an excellent bassist. He is a superb talent, nothing else I can say about him. I also picked up a re-release of Bad Religion's 'Suffer', which was good, albeit it really short, at only 25 minutes. D: Last, I got Voltaire's 'Then and Again', which out of the three, was definately the best. He has such an awesome voice, and he's dreamy to boot. <3

The two albums I "previewed", which I plan on buying, are Oasis' 'Don't Believe The Truth', which wasn't all that bad, though a few of the tracks sounded like they pillaged Lennon's corpse and made him sing on the album, and Dream Theater's 'Octavarium' which. was. un-FREAKIN-believable. The title track alone is worth the price of the CD. Just really great progressive metal.

Now with that out of the way. I have something that I need to say. Even if I had the opportunity to come back to BF, I would not. I have decided that I don't belong there anyway. I'm not into all of the stuff that goes on. I'm no macrophile. It's not just that though. It's the way the whole situation was handled. Namely, very poorly. Alot of mistakes were made, by me, and by the staff. Things were said by both parties that should not have been. I'll admit I pushed many buttons that night; but that doesn't make a certain fur justified in bringing my personal life and relationships into it, especially considering their own problems. I didn't feel very understood that night, and if that is the case, why would I want to go back? Sure I have a few friends from there; but I don't need to be there to talk to them. So I'm not really missing out now am I? And I'm not the only one who seems to have a bit of a bad taste in their mouth lately, a few other people seem to feel left out of everything as well. That's how I always felt. Nobody ever just said "Hi Ibun, how are you doing?" It's mostly just people bitching and complaining about one thing or another, or worse, nothing at all. It's not really any fun sitting in front of a screen doing nothing. And it's not like I don't try and talk to people, I do. I always PM them and try to start a conversation; but after a few minutes their off doing something else with somebody from one of their cliques. So I ask again, why would I want to go back?

Lastly, for those of you who don't know yet, Derrick and I have split up. For now at least. I am hoping, that after I give him some space, we'll be able to try it again. I think their are several reasons for the break. First, I think the car crash has left his mind rattled, and he needs to get his life back in order. Secondly, I think I was to, not obsessive; but a little too clingy. And I was moving too fast. I'm going to try and work on both of those, and hopefully, if there is a second time around, it will go better. If not, then, we'll see what happens I suppose.

Oh, I almost forgot, Mass Rehab, the people working with me in trying to find me a job placement, has closed my case. The main reason is that finding my father a job has become the family's main goal right now. So getting a job just got a bit harder for me. Speaking of which, my dad didn't get the job he applied for, but he's still taking some programming courses, AND on the same day his band broke up. Fun stuff there. So he was a bit pissed on Friday. My brother has a job though, he's been working at the bank for a few weeks now. He's all profeshiunal with his dress clothes. Oh well. Life goes on.

12:47 am - Death Whispered A Lullaby
Out on the road there are fireflies circling
Deep in the woods, where the lost souls hide
Over the hill there are men returning
Trying to find some peace of mind

Home, Sleep my child
Home, Sleep my child
Home, Sleep my child
Home, Sleep my child

Under the fog there are shadows moving
Don't be afraid, hold my hand
Into the dark there are eyelids closing
Buried alive in the shifting sands

Home, Sleep my child
Home, Sleep my child
Home, Sleep my child
Home, Sleep my child

Speak to me now and the world will crumble
Open a door and the moon will fall
All of your life all your memories
Go to your dreams, forget it all

Home, Sleep my child
Home, Sleep my child
Home, Sleep my child
Home, Sleep my child

03:48 pm - It's cloudy now...
In a violent place we can call our country
Is a mixed up man and I guess that's me
The sun's in the sky but the storm never seems to end
It's a place of sorrow but we call it a home
And the darkest thoughts, yeah I guess they're my own
There's wealth in the bank but there's nothing to show inside

It's cloudy now
It's cloudy now
It's cloudy now
It's getting cloudy now

In a special place that I call my life
The father was cruel and he lost his wife
But I don't see either cos I live across the street
It's a beautiful thing when it starts to rain
A man who drinks just to drown the pain
And I can't stop from dreaming there's something else

It's cloudy now
It's cloudy now
It's cloudy now
It's getting cloudy now

It's cloudy now
It's cloudy now
It's cloudy now
It's getting cloudy now

We are a fucked up generation
It's cloudy now
A fucked up generation
It's cloudy now
We gotta get out of here
It's cloudy now

11:37 pm - CD Review IV
Artist: Green Day
Album: Warning
Release Date: October 3, 2000

1) Warning - The album starts off with the title track. It has an easy beat to get into. The lyrics themselves were cleverly written and sung, adding in a bunch of different actual warnings that you see. Plus the section with the sirens and echoed vocals was kind of cool.

2) Blood Sex and Booze - I don't like the beginning of this song; but when it hits the chorus it really hits it. The lyrics aren't ones that I particularly like; but overall it's a fine song. The mandolins thrown in were a nice bonus too. :D

3) Chruch on Sunday - Love this song. It has a quick and simple beat. A nice fun, happy type of smitten love song. Nothing technically great about the song; but I love it's simplicity.

4) Fashion Victim - This song has decent guitar riffs in it, with vocals to match. The hook here though, is the lyrics. They really define my stance on fashion and brand name labels.

5) Castaway - Another easy beat to get into. Fast and upbeat. I remember listening to this one on repeat hundreds of times back while playing THPS 2. I love Billie's voice in this song. I don't know what it is, something about his tone is just really awesome. The part without the guitars was pretty excellent too. The bass alone was awesome, and the singing just adds to it.

6) Misery - Back when I first got the album (when it first came out) I really didn't like this song. But it's grown on me. It has a very Italian sound to it.Not the singing; but the accordians other instruments in the background.

7) Deadbeat Holiday - While I don't like the second line in this, the song is still pretty funny. Basically a tale of a really crappy house that is falling apart. The harmony singing is pretty nice, where it is featured. Again, it has a very strong chorus.

8) Hold On - Once again, they nailed it with the chorus. Loved the harmonica in the song. It's a refreshing bit of downtime from the faster paced songs; but without being dull.

9) Jackass - Another smooth beat. Another great chorus, especially lyrically this time. And, what's that, oh yes, saxaphone. My favorite instrument, so that's a big plus. :D

10) Waiting - It's similar to Hold On, it's a slower song. Not too slow though. Other than that, I don't have much to say about it.

11) Minority - The big single from the album. Nothing special about this song, it's just a song. It doesn't add or detract from the overall experience.

12) Macy's Day Parade - Probably my least favorite song on the album. It's not a bad song really; but it's really slow, and doesn't
quite fit in the grand scheme of the CD. Other than out, it's an alright song.

Conclusion) I still say that this is Green Day's best album. It's a really solid pop-rock album. I'd suggest that fans of the genre go pick this up immeadiatly, and of course for a fan of the band, it's a must have.

Final Score: 82/100

11:08 pm - CD Review III
Artist: Blackfield (Steven Wilson & Aviv Geffen)
Album: Blackfield
Release Date: January, 2004

This collaboration between Steven Wilson, lead singer of Porcupine Tree and my hands down favorite vocalist, and Aviv Geffen, an already well-established solo artist, is, in a word, fantastic. The simple raw emotion pouring out of each note, each word, each hit of the stick to drum, is chilling. First off, not only does Wilson have an amazing voice; but Geffen is pretty good in his own right. They have a way, just by closing my eyes, of creating a vivid picture in my mind. One song after another, is a new painting, not just any painting, a masterpiece.

It is by no means a happy record at all. In fact, I think it is very depressing. The images I see are not happy ones. At times they can be pretty brutal. That might just be my fucked up mind; but when I envision and interperate the album, bad stuff goes down. I've seen people die, and not just a regular death either, cold calculated murders. The song 'scars', disturbs me a little sometimes. And some people know exactly why. I can see self-mutilation...and, well you know who is doing it. ._. It is a beautiful song nonetheless, despite my personal history. Anyway, this entire album, in my eyes, is riddled with morbid imagery and death. It isn't obvious and celibratory as you might find in doom metal, it's detectable; but at the same time, hidden behind the beauty of the sound.

In conclusion, it is a great album, no doubt about that; but the subject matter might be a little sensitive to some people.

Final Score: 91/100

02:43 am - Asshole?
Some of you may percieve me as an asshole, becuase I lash out from time to time. Maybe I am, I don't know. What I do know, is that I try to help people as much as humanly possible. It's not an easy thing to do. And more often than not, I bottle up my feelings. I've always done this. And the result is pent up frustration and anger, that results in me lashing out at people. Some of you know exactly what I'm talking about. Sometimes, I do regret what I do; but in tonight's instance, I stand by what I said. This person has tried to fuck with my mind, and convince me that I didn't love Derrick because of some actions I took. Regrettable actions I'll admit; but not ones that make me love him any less. So yes, I think she is a bitch. If that ruffles people's feathers more than some sick freaks who like stomping people into oblivion, or chicks with chests twice the size of their body, or those that like to be eaten by others, that's too fucking bad. That's who I am. Most of the time, I am either happy, or sad; but on occasion I get angry. I'm not perfect, I know this. But I'm most certainly not an asshole. I'm a good person, and if you don't like me for who i am, the happy Ibun, the sad Ibun, and the pissed, angsty Ibun, then do yourself a favor, and don't talk to me, okay? I don't need to deal with people like you anymore, I've been making that mistake my whole life. I'm not going to keep making it anymore.
